About Cortney Hicks

Cortney Hicks is a Jacksonville-based trial attorney dedicated to guiding clients through some of life’s most difficult moments with precision and purpose.

Raised in West Palm Beach, Florida, he earned his degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University, where he developed a strong foundation in leadership and advocacy.

At Florida Coastal School of Law, he was inducted into the award-winning Moot Court Honor Board and Mock Trial Team, and held leadership roles as President of the Black Law Student Association, Vice President of the Mock Trial Team, and Treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. He is among the last recipients of the James A. Richter Humanitarian Service Award, established to honor students devoted to advancing human welfare and reform.

Attorney Cortney Hicks has participated in cases resulting in over $10 million recovered for clients. While practicing at a previous firm, Mr. Hicks helped secure a $2.9 million verdict in 2024 and a $2.8 million verdict in 2025. He has built a reputation for strategic, results-driven representation.

He approaches every case with a client-centered mindset, recognizing that each case represents a person whose life has been disrupted and deserves to be restored.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Hicks remains deeply committed to service. He is an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and regularly provides pro bono assistance, including helping individuals with expungements and citizenship applications.

Mr. Hicks also co-founded the Rosewood Legacy Scholarship alongside his sister, an initiative focused on expanding access to higher education and supporting the next generation of leaders.
